waiting for the next one to start
in the silence the lingers between the sounds
i hear the beating of my own heart
and for just a second there, i'll remember
that for the moment i am still here
but then the next song begins and that moment ends
and i drift back down into the ether
there's a moment at the end of every song
when i remember i'm still a human being
and so i wait for the starting of the next track
i'll evade if i can that responsibility
it's easier to listen all alone
to let other people sing about what's going wrong
because it's too damn hard when you and try and live
