*sigh*

Have you ever made a joke about yourself, and then the second after you say it, totally bring yourself down? I did it a few days ago.

"Hey Dave, your beard is really growing in."

"Thanks. I've been getting a lot of compliments over it, actually."

"From the ladies?"

"A few times, yeah. It's kind of nice."

"Yeah. Wonder what it is they like about the beard?"

"Probably that now, they can't see my face."

(pause)

"ouch. My pride."
